FPL Game Week 11 Captain Picks
The number one question ahead of game week 11 has been answered with Harry Kane playing 80 minutes against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening but anything is possible in Fantasy Premier League as last Friday brought news of disastrous injuries for most FPL managers – that’s why our members get access to ‘The Last Word’ which we publish every week just 90 minutes before the deadline – so be sure to sign up here if you haven’t already.
We usually reserve the final captain pick for members only but this week has only one real choice with the aforementioned striker back in the fray. That being said, we still think it is worthwhile compiling our top three captain choices for game week 11 and will put a slight angle on each of them.
FPL GW11 Captain Pick No.3: Daniel Sturridge (The Ballsy Differential)
With so many of the top teams playing each other in game week 11 it could pay to side with Liverpool who travel to West Ham for the Saturday evening game. Daniel Sturridge has not featured as a captain pick for a very long time but we think he will start this game and given that West Ham have conceded almost 2 goals on average per game it will be a good opportunity for him to add to the two goals he has scored in his last two appearances, the latest being from the bench in midweek.

The fact that Firmino played 85 minutes in the Champions League may point to either Sturridge playing with him or in replacement of him and he could just punish the Hammers if Liverpool are in the mood.
Let’s be honest, there won’t be many taking this pick but if you have any doubt over Harry Kane being able to break down Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace (and it could happen) then you could do worse than opt for a differential pick like this.
FPL GW11 Captain Pick No.2: Sergio Aguero (The Alternative)
Aguero was rested last week so he was fresh for the Champions League trip to Napoli in which he became Man City’s record goalscorer. Jesus is a big threat to his starting position but Pep will surely opt for experience in a game of this magnitude and may even play Jesus and Aguero together like he did earlier in the season.
With Champions League qualification now assured it gives Pep the opportunity to 100% prioritise the league and he might be looking to hand out a spanking to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal at the Etihad this Sunday. Sane is the other pick from Man City but he played pretty much the full 90 in midweek whereas Aguero was afforded a little more rest coming off with 15 minutes to play.
Pep was full of superlatives for his number one striker after the game and if he does start he could be ready to extend his goalscoring feats and does anyone remember that 8-2 at Old Trafford 6 years ago? We wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal got hammered like that again if there is an early goal.
Aguero is a very serious alternative to HArry Kane this weekend for the armband.
FPL GW 11 Captain Pick No.1: Harry Kane (Captain Obvious)
Three of Harry Kane’s braces have come in away games with the Liverpool game being the only home game in which he has hit a double – this is the only concern over picking the Englishman as captain in game week 11. Still, a return of 8 goals from 9 games after failing to score in the first three of those is a formidable prospect and one that is not easily ignored.
It is certainly not inconceivable that Kane will blank as he failed to score at home to Swansea, Bournemouth and Burnley so far this season – teams that are of a similar ilk to Crystal Palace.

But not selecting Harry Kane as captain this weekend could be disaster should he hit a double and with the confidence that Spurs will have taken from their convincing 3-1 win over Real Madrid it is hard to not side with a decent home win here.
Crystal Palace have lost their last 7 away games in the Premier League and it looks like that stat will stretch to 8 this weekend. Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are other choices for the armband and both had excellent games in midweek.
He may be captain obvious for GW11 but there is a reason for that – so unless you are 150 points behind in your league we suggest you bite the bullet and captain the obvious choice this weekend.
