With so many favourable fixtures for the top teams in game week 14, we are pretty spoilt for choice when choosing a captain. Not only do we have some top choices for the armband from the top clubs but we are starting to see the emergence of potential captain candidates from some of the other clubs now too.
That being said, it is the big clubs that hold the most potential in gameweek 14 and we have 3 top picks for you this week.
FPL GW14 Captain Pick No.3: Mo Salah
Perhaps not the easiest fixture in the world if we look at the history books with 2 of the last 3 games between these two sides at Stoke have finished 1-0 to Liverpool. Back in April it was 2-1 to the Reds with Coutinho and Firmino getting amongst the goals but this could be a more open affair.
Stoke have been very inconsistent so far this season and despite significant summer investment in their defence they were pretty fragile at the weekend to lose after going 1-0 up against Crystal Palace.
Mo Salah is a force that continues to give defences nightmares this season and he continued his record breaking start to his Liverpool career with another goal against his former club Chelsea and this will represent another chance for the Egyptian.
Liverpool need the points and we expect them to get them here after a spirited performance against Chelsea at Anfield. If Liverpool do go a goal up then the crowd could get on the backs of the home side and turn their biggest asset in to a big weakness.
There are some top fixtures this weekend so many will overlook Salah for the captains armband in GW14, so if you need something different then why not take a punt on him.
FPL GW14 Captain Pick No.2: Alexis Sanchez
Sanchez is back. Plain and simple. Two goals in his last two games and three (and an assist) in his last 5 shows that the Chilean has started to recapture the form he has shown for the last few seasons at Arsenal.
Huddersfield had a tough assignment on Sunday and almost came away with a point against Man City bu that game will have taken a lot out of them and their away form is far different to their home form.
Arsenal may shuffle their pack a little but they way Huddersfield contained City for large periods of the game may just force Wenger’s hand in to fielding his strongest possible side.

Sanchez is the danger man for Arsenal and although Lacazette is the cheaper option he is more of a rotation risk and is subbed after around 60 minutes in almost every game. Sanchez is just at the point now where he has reached full fitness after completing 5 sets of 90 minutes in the league on the bounce.
The best part about picking Sanchez as captain is that only 2.8% of managers have him in their teams – so there is serious differential to be had.
Yes, he is expensive at £11.8m… but if you have him then he is going to be a captain selection surely?
