Last week was a tricky week for the captain selection and the gameweek 19 captain pick looks no easier if truth be told. But we smashed it with our members number one pick last with Wayne Rooney our choice and despite him having us sweating after an early penalty miss (which he still had an assist for) he returned a decent 26 points as captain.

This week we bring you three top picks once again and if you don’w want to miss out on the number one pick then make sure you sign up here. If you are a member, make sure you are logged in to see the top captain tip for GW19.

Now we have the Carabao Cup action out of the way we have a clearer idea of what the weekend has in store – here our our top picks for the weekend.

Game Week 19 Captain Pick No.3: Marko Arnautovic

We are going for all home picks this week and Arnautovic is a bit of a wildcard selection in the sense that he is only selected by 0.9% of managers and therefore has plenty of differential. If you captain Arnie and he performs then the rewards are going to be huge over your rivals as most managers in your league won’t have him.

Not going with a Man City player this week could be very damaging to your cause but if you are needing something different in your team then we can’t recommend highly enough that you put Arnautovic in.

He looks like a transformed player under David Moyes, has a home game against Newcastle and has now overcome the muscular niggles he had at the start of the week. This is a game that the Hammers should win comfortably if they perform how they have over the last few weeks and we don’t expect the midweek cup action to impact on them too severely.

We are backing Arnie to add to his two goals int he last three games for West Ham and as a midfielder he is likely to pick up a clean sheet point too.

Game Week 19 Captain Pick No.2: Kevin De Bruyne

If you want to go in to GW19 with a rock solid captain pick then you can’t really look much further than Man City. KDB is our number two pick following a run of form that is up there with the best. Since game week 4, KDB has only failed to grab a goal or an assist in 4 games and his season tally sits at 6 goals and 8 assists.

Second only to Mohamed Salah in the overall rankings, the Belgian will be looking to boss this game against Bournemouth who conceded four at home to Liverpool last weekend. This could be even more of a hammering if Eddie Howe tries to go and play his own way against City (which he will most likely do) and we wouldn’t be surprised to see this as a 5 or 6 goal game in favour of the home side!

With no news yet on whether David Silva will return this week and with reports suggesting he is still in Spain for personal reasons, it is unlikely that the Spaniard will be in contention for this game – something that points even more so to KDB being a really top captain pick for GW19!
