The game week 21 captain tips are a little later than usual thanks to the Fantasy Football Edge annual Christmas bash – but fear not, we are here now with another 3 top picks to help you decide who to give the armband to in GW21.

With Harry Kane and his Spurs teammates not involved in gameweek 21 it means that last week’s most captained player is not available for captaincy and you will need to look elsewhere. There are still some pretty tasty looking fixtures for the teams at the top of the table but with this week being sandwiched between the recent GW20 and GW22 which starts on New Year’s Day the biggest concern will be rotation so be sure to have a rock solid vice captain.

GW21 Captain Pick No.3: Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata is still relatively fresh thanks to his suspension prior to the Boxing Day game in which saw him return to the scoresheet. We like this pick because the Spain striker is pretty much nailed on to start and Chelsea face a Stoke City team which still looks defensively weak despite picking up a win and a draw in their last two games.

Morata is a serious aerial threat and although Stoke are generally decent in the air they are very weak at defending from the wings, something that Chelsea will excel at when attacking with their marauding wing backs.

Expect Morata to get plenty of service and we fancy him to bag at least one in this game. His only Premier League hat-trick was against Stoke earlier this season and he will take plenty of confidence from that.

GW21 Captain Pick No.2: Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku is a bit of a wildcard suggestion as he has not scored or assisted for 2 games on the trot now, however he has not gone 3 games without a goal or an assist all season so there is every chance of a goal for the flailing United Striker.

Lukaku scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory for the Reds and although the Saints were without Virgil Van Dijk that day, they now have to get set for life without him in the long term and they have not faired too well without him in the last 3 games conceding 5 goals at Wembley to Spurs in their last game.

If Man Utd can approach this game with gusto (and they surely have to) then it could be a similar scoreline and there is a sense that Lukaku (who historically scores goals in gluts) is due a big haul.

The final reason we like Lukaku as a captain pick this week is that he is pretty much guaranteed to start.
