GW22 Captain Pick No.3 – Sergio Aguero
With Jesus out of the frame for the next 8 weeks or so, the onus will now be on Sergio Aguero to lead the line for Man City without too much rotation. Of course, the possible recruitment of a certain Alexis Sanchez could scupper that philosophy but we are safe with an Aguero selection for at least the next few weeks.
Man City were held to a goalless draw at Crystal Palace on New Year’s Eve (something we predicted last week) but a home game against Watford is a different kettle of fish and Aguero would make for a perfectly sensible captain pick.
The double game week will of course taint most people’s views on this but should Aguero fire and Kane and co blank in their two games then you will be one of very few to capitalise. It is a very risky strategy and if you can’t bear to lose ground then you need to go for a Spurs player – however, if you fancy a gamble then this is the one to make.
GW22 Captain Pick No.2 – Christian Eriksen
Eriksen is one of a handful of Spurs players who you can almost guarantee will play the full 180 minutes of these two games against Swansea (a) and West Ham (h) and given that he has only failed to score or assist in one of his last 6 games he should return anything between 8 and 16 points minimum – double that for 16-32 points or 24-48 points as a triple captain – sound tempting?
That’s because this captain pick makes plenty of sense.
Wether Kane plays or not, you can be certain Eriksen will. So if there is no news on Kane come New Years Morning then you really have to take this pick seriously.
