After what was a difficult week for choosing captains last week the clock is ticking on our decision for who to captain in game week 24. With a plethora of options available this week it is likely that who you give the armband has a little more room for error this week as there are potentially 5 or 6 top candidates for the armband.
As always, we will be bringing you our top 3 FPL captain tips with the number one choice being reserved for our members.
Decent fixtures for Man City, Spurs and Liverpool will probably dominate the teams from which selections are made but with teams such as Leicester and West Ham also having favourable games it could prove a good day at the office for many.
Game Week 24 Captain Pick No.3: Harry Kane
Spurs travel to Saint Mary’s in gameweek 24 as Pochettino takes his rampant Spurs side to his old club. The last time Southampton came up against an ex manager they were thumped 4-1 by Leicester and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar scoreline in this game.
Harry Kane has to remain the top pick for Spurs despite a recent run of terrific form by Son. The only concern with Kane is that it often seems to be all or nothing but with hat-tricks and braces galore over the last few weeks (except for the double game week of course) he will still be a very popular choice this week.
Southampton were unlucky to be pegged back due to a handball goal last weekend but they way the players reacted (with almost no complaint) showed that the problems at the South Coast club are far from fixed and perhaps go a little deeper than we first thought. Add to that the fact that Southampton have kept only one clean sheet since October and it is hard to make a case for them. Kane could blow up here and is a solid option.
Game Week 24 Captain Pick No.2: Sergio Aguero
Man City look to have an excellent opportunity to bounce back from their first defeat of the season in a home game against a Newcastle side that struggled to a 1-1 draw against Swansea last time out. Aguero looks set to lead the line and whilst there are a host of other options he looks the most likely to play the full 90 and has scored big against this opposition in the past.
Newcastle played pretty well in the reverse fixture up at St James’ Park but this will be a different kettle of fish and with City coming off the back of a defeat there could hardly be a worse time to play Pep Guardiola’s team.
