The double game week might not be over but we are turning our attentions towards the final week of the season with our game week 38 tips. Unbelievably, the season will draw to a close this weekend with all the drama surrounding the fourth Champions League spot and the last two relegation spots.

The first half of GW37 did not return particularly well for any of the big captain picks but Aubameyang and Lacazette duly obliged to give Arsenal a very convincing win over Burnley at the Emirates. There is plenty of food for thought as we look to close out on a high in GW38 as we look to head off on our holidays with our heads held high.

Game Week 38 Tips

We take a look at the top fixtures that should return decent points for the final weekend of the Premier League season.

Crystal Palace Vs. West Brom

This will be a fascinating encounter and rather unbelievably it is one that you wouldn’t write West Brom off from winning. Whether or not that will be enough to save them remains to be seen on what the teams around them do but with the best form in the league (at the time of writing) and playing a Palace side that can finally relax (and who are pretty inconsistent) you might be foolish not to side with at least one of their players.

We thought the days were gone when you could back a WBA defender but those days are back – and this might be the last time you can do that for a while – Ben Foster (GK) and Hegazi (DF) are our top picks.

Huddersfield Vs. Arsenal

The home team that looked safe a few weeks ago has been sucked in to this relegation battle and they close the season with two very tough games against Chelsea and Arsenal. They managed to shut out Man City at the Etihad in the first half of GW37 but this looks a tough ask under immense pressure.

Given that resolute performance against the Champions it may be prudent not to pin too much on Arsenal but as it is Arsene Wenger’s last game in charge of the Gunners it should be a strong team and a passionate performance from his charges. Aubameyang and Lacazette look good in the same team and perhaps at least one of these should be on your final team sheet of the season.

Liverpool Vs. Brighton

The home side have everything to play for in the final game of the season and although they will have thoughts on a huge Champions League final they will also have to play their best team to ensure victory against Brighton.

They could not find a way through against Chelsea when suffering a 1-0 defeat and with Brighton having just claimed the scalp of Man Utd they are sitting pretty in safety. This should be a different proposition altogether and players will be playing not just for the final 3 points available but also to secure their starting position against Real Madrid.

Mane and Salah are the preferred choice with Alexander-Arnold the one to complete the trio. We expect a good win here for the home side.

Man Utd Vs. Watford

Man Utd are one of the most frustrating teams to watch this season and choosing their players is equally difficult at times. Following the most lack lustre display of the season against Brighton one might hope they will turn it around against West Ham – this is a watching brief and if there is no improvement in performance then avoid this fixture.

They may well have secured second place by the time this game comes around and if that is the case who knows what the team sheet will look like.

Either way it is probably best to avoid Man Utd (and Watford) players for gameweek 38.

Newcastle Vs. Chelsea

It looks like Chelsea will have everything to play for going in to this game and it is Olivier Giroud who is the new found hero at Stamford Bridge. This game might be away from home against a much improved Newcastle side but the Frenchman will fancy his chances again here.

A clean sheet is also likely with the Blues on a good run at the back.

Southampton Vs. Man City

City lacked their usual ruthless finishing touch last time out but this is a tough ask for Southampton who may well need to win this game to retain their Premier League status. Jesus and co may have lost a bit of faith from some of the FPL community for their showing against Huddersfield but they still have every chance of scoring big in this fixture.

Jesus is probably the one must have with Raheem Sterling remaining our other top pick.

Spurs Vs Leicester

Spurs need this win more than Leicester and although the home side lost at West Brom last weekend they should be able to beat this poor finishing Leicester side quite comfortably.

Eriksen and Kane are our preferred choice for this fixture and even if Kane is going in to this game with another blank he is worth a punt against a Leicester defence that has conceded 7 goals in the last two games (and that is before they have played Arsenal).
