If you haven’t heard the news yet, you have an early Christmas bonus in store… Or perhaps a late one… as news has emerged that Spurs and West Ham will have their game week 21 fixture rescheduled as part of a double game week for them in game week 22.
The bad news is that if you have Spurs or West Ham players then they won’t feature in the final gameweek of the year (21) and instead will play on Thursday 4th January which now falls in GW22.
The good news is that the timing could hardly be better with the brand new wildcard being available for GW22, meaning you will be able to shuffle your packs accordingly and then activate a wildcard to bring them back in for the extra game time if you so wish.
Spurs were already due to play Swansea away in GW22 but will now also face the Hammers at home in a DGW that looks very favourable for the North London club.
Those managers who have already activated the free hit may well be kicking themselves as it could be the opportune time to play the new chip if you would rather save your wildcard.
Fear not, we will be releasing some strategies for our members later this week on how to prepare for the double game week so if you want to get access to these make sure you are signed up.
The timing of the game week is very unusual and the fixture has been moved to ease transport issues in the area around the Olympic Park Stadium and mainly due to issues with the Tube stations after New Years Eve.
Being so early in January, many FPL managers will be reluctant to use their wildcard with the potential arrival of new transfers in January 2018 – but there are plenty of options available if you plan them well.
Isn’t this why we love Fantasy Premier League so much?
